On December 7, a settler fired a gunshot towards two Palestinians in South Hebron Hills. The two Palestinians were walking from At Tuwani to Maghair Al Abeed village, were they live. The route they were walking passes close to the illegal outpost of Havat Maon.  On their way they met a settlers’ car. While the Palestinians were going away a gunshot was fired from the settlers’ car, which then left in the direction of the outpost.The two scared Palestinians ran away in order to reach home. No injured were reported.

Il 7 dicembre, un colono ha sparato un colpo di arma da fuoco verso due palestinesi nelle Colline a Sud di Hebron. I palestinesi stavano camminando da Tuwani al villaggio di Maghair al Abeed dove vivono, lungo un tragitto che passa vicino all’avamposto illegale di Havat Ma’on. Per strada hanno incrociato una macchina di coloni. Mentre i palestinesi si allontanavano un colpo di arma da fuoco è partito dalla macchina dei coloni, che si sono poi allontanati in direzione dell’avamposto. I due palestinesi sono scappati spaventati, per raggiungere le loro case. Non sono stati riportati feriti.

On December 3 Israeli soldiers and settlers closed the entrance of several villages in South Hebron Hills area. With the excuse of a “Marathon” they prevented Palestinians residetns from moving freely for several hours.

OD volunteers monitored the closure of At-Tuwani where soldiers prevented Palestinian women to reach hospital (located in the nearby city of Yatta), men coming back home after work. Closure continued for one hour after the end of the marathon,and soldiers refused to give any explanation about.

UPDATE: Maratona di coloni israeliani blocca l’area delle Southern Hebron Hills

Il 3 dicembre soldati e coloni israeliani hanno bloccato le entrate di diversi villaggi nell’area delle Southern Hebron Hills. Con la scusa di una “Maratona” hanno impedito ai palestinesi residenti di muoversi per diverse ore.

I volontari di Operazione Colomba hanno monitorato la chiusura di At-Tuwani dove i soldati hanno impedito alle donne di raggiungere l’ospedale di Yatta, e agli uomini di tornare alle proprie case dopo il lavoro. Il blocco è continuato fino a un’ora dopo la fine della “maratona” e i soldati si sono rifiutati di dare spiegazione alcuna su questo.

On November 22, Operation Dove volunteers and a B’Tselem operator documented the closure of all the access roads to Al-Khalil (Hebron) except for the one of Beit Ummar.

Israeli army has also placed hundreds of physical obstacles in the form of concrete blocks, piles or dirt,  spike strips and trenches, which prevent access to and from Al Khalil (Hebron) where live around 200.000 Palestinians.

Movement restrictions were imposed again (link) as a collective punishment after four Israelis were killed in two separate attacks on both sides of the Green Line thursday afternoon.

This closure policy constitute the most severe restriction on movement of Palestinians living in this area. Despite freedom of movement is an inalienable human right, Israeli forces policy aims to deny it to Palestinians.

UPDATE: La chiusura di Hebron e Yatta

Il 22 novembre volontari di Operazione Colomba e un operatore di B’Tselem hanno documentato la chiusura di tutte le strade di accesso ad Hebron tranne quella che passa da Beit Ummar.

L’esercito israeliano ha inoltre collocato centinaia di ostacoli fisici come blocchi di cemento, mucchi di materiale di scarto e strisce chiodate che impediscono l’accesso da e per Hebron.

Le restrizioni di movimento sono state imposte un’altra volta ( link ) come punizione collettiva, dopoché che quattro israeliani sono morti (due a Tel Aviv e due nei Territori palestinesi Occupati) giovedì pomeriggio.

Questa politica di chiusura costituisce la più severa restrizione di movimento per i palestinesi che vivono in quest’area. Nonostante la libertà di movimento sia un diritto umano inalienabile, le forze israeliane stanno puntando a negarlo ai palestinesi.

Yesterday during a checkpoint at At-Tuwani village entrance, Israeli police arrested a Palestinian young, who was driving a tank truck laden with water.
Operation Dove volunteers tried to approach the Palestinian detained in order to give him legal assistance, but were prevented by one policeman who pointed at them the M16 rifle lock and load.
The police confiscated the truck after having emptied it from all the water.
Israeli policy of arrests and confiscations is still affecting Palestinians families economy: in this case furthermore the arrest of the young and the loss of the water load, the family have also to pay a bill of 1500 shekel for the confiscated truck.

Polizia Israeliana arresta autista palestinese e ne confisca il camion, danneggiando il fabbisogno idrico delle comunità

Ieri durante un checkpoint all’entrata del villaggio di At-Tuwani, la polizia israeliana ha arrestato un giovane palestinese che stava guidando un camion cisterna carico d’acqua.
I volontari di Operazione Colomba hanno tentato di avvicinarsi al palestinese detenuto per fornirgli assistenza legale, ma son stati fermati da un poliziotto che ha puntato e caricato il fucile verso di loro. La polizia ha confiscato il camion dopo averlo vuotato del carico d’acqua.
La politica israeliana di arresti e confische continua a danneggiare l’economia delle famiglie palestinesi: in questo caso oltre all’arresto dell’autista e la perdita del carico d’acqua, la famiglia dovrà anche pagare una multa di 1500 shekel (360 euro) per il camion confiscato

Today, November 12th, Operation Dove volunteers reported demolitions in Al Kalil il Sharaboti. Israeli Army, DCO (District Coordination office) and Border Police demolished 3 structures: a well and two cow shelters.

These kind of demolitions badly affects the Palestinian economy, leaving farmers without any income and pushing their communities out of Area C.

UPDATE : Esercito israeliano demolisce un pozzo e due allevamenti per bovini vicino a Hebron.

Oggi, 12 novembre i volontari di Operazione Colomba hanno documentato demolizioni in Al Kalil il Sharaboti. L’amministrazione israeliana dei Territori insieme all’esercito hanno demolito un pozzo e due allevamenti per bovini.

Queste demolizioni danneggiano gravemente l’economia palestinese, lasciando gli allevatori senza redditi e forzando le loro comunità a spostarsi fuori dall’area C.

On November 11, Operation Dove volunteers went to Hebron’s Old City in order to monitor the area and to bring solidarity and support to the people who suffer daily from the Israeli closure policy of the Old City and settlers violence.

Since October 1, 23 Palestinians were killed in Hebron, most of them without representing any kind of threat. In many cases, soldiers shot to unarmed people only because the soldiers thought they were suspects, without any proof and from far away.

Operation Dove volunteers documented the closures (especially Tel Rumeida and Al-Shuhada street) that prevent Palestinian’s freedom of movement. They also taped some young settlers during a training with guns on a roof in the middle of the Old City.

UPDATE : Camminando per la città vecchia di Hebron

L’11 novembre i volontari di Operazione Colomba sono stati nella città vecchia di Hebron per monitorare l’area e per portare il proprio supporto e solidarietà alle persone che giornalmente soffrono a causa della politica israeliana di chiusura del centro città abbinata alla violenza dei coloni.

Dal primo di ottobre 23 palestinesi sono stati ammazzati a Hebron, molti dei quali non rappresentavano nessuna minaccia: i soldati israeliani hanno spesso sparato a persone disarmate, solamente perché sospette.

I volontari di Operazione Colomba ha documentato la chiusura che riguarda specialmente Tel Rumeida e Al-Shuhada Street e che impedisce la libertà di movimento per i Palestinesi. I volontari hanno inoltre registrato dei coloni mentre si addestravano su un tetto all’uso delle armi nel cuore della città vecchia.

On October 24, Israeli settlers ambushed 2 Operation Dove volunteers who were accompanying a 20 years old Palestinian girl and her little brother. At around 12 pm, 3 masked adult settlers came out from Havat Ma’on outpost armed with sticks and they started yelling while running towards them in order to beat the girl and the children. Despite the attack, Palestinians reached Tuba village4safely escaping through a longer path.

UPDATE : Coloni dell’avamposto illegale di Havat Ma’on tentano di attaccare palestinesi e internazionali 

Il giorno 24 ottobre, mentre due volontari di Operazione Colomba stavano accompagnando una ragazza palestinese (20 anni) con il suo piccolo fratellino, sono stati attaccati nella valle di Shab el Shamsti da dei coloni israeliani. Attorno alle 12.00 infatti 3 coloni adulti sono usciti dall’avamposto illegale di Havat Ma’on mascherati e armati di bastoni, correndo verso i palestinesi e gli internazionali con l’intento di attaccarli. Nonostante l’attacco la ragazza con suo fratello sono riusciti a mettersi al sicuro e raggiungere il villaggio di Tuba, scappando per una strada molto più lunga.

A right wing activist attempted to stab Rabbis for Human Rights head Arik Ascherman (photo) who was helping Palestinians harvest olives near the settlement of Itamar in the Samaria Region of the West Bank, according to a spokesman for the group..

“The activist ran toward him [Ascherman] in a threatening way with a drawn knife,” a spokesman for Rabbis for Human Rights said. He added that Ascherman was unharmed.

A spokesman for Judea and Samaria police said that Ascherman had gone to the olive grove along with other left wing activists to help the Palestinians.

He added that after the Palestinian farmers had finished their work a group of left wing activists remained. An altercation broke out between them and right wing activists, the police said.

The spokesman added that officers were searching for the man suspected to attempting to stab Ascherman.
