On the first of January 2017 the new sewer pipe of the Israeli settlement of Karmel started to work, poisoning Palestinian farmlands in Umm Al Kheir village, in the South Hebron hills.

The start up of the sewer pipe entailed the spilling of noxious liquid in the near Palestinian farmland where are planted dozens of olive trees.

The sewage also is poisoning a part of land used every day by the Palestinian shepherds to graze their flocks. For this reason the spilling of liquid is also dangerous for their sheep.

On December 8 the Israeli forces leveled Palestinian lands in order to install the sewer pipe to service the Israeli settlement of Karmel that lies few meters away from Umm al Kheir.

UPDATE:  Il nuovo impianto fognario della colonia di Karmel avvelena le terre palestinesi di Umm Al Kheir

Il 1 Gennaio 2017 il nuovo impianto di scarico fognario della colonia di Karmel ha iniziato a lavorare, inquinando la terre coltivate palestinesi del villaggio di Umm Al Kheir, nelle colline a sud di Hebron.

L’avvio dell’impianto ha comportato la fuoriuscita di liquidi nocivi nei terreni agricoli palestinesi dove sono piantati decine di alberi di ulivo.

La acque di scolo stanno inoltre inquinando le terre che sono utilizzate dai pastori palestinesi per pascolare le greggi, con grave rischio di avvelenamento di queste ultime.

Lo scorso 8 dicembre le forze israeliane hanno livellato le terre palestinesi per installare il muovo impianto fognario che serve la vicina colonia israeliana di Karmel, sita a pochi metri dal villaggio di Umm al Kheir.
